A Thought for the Week— God Wants to Bless Us

    Thursday January 4, 2007

"To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.(acts of wickedness)"( Acts 3:26NKJ)

God desires to bless people. Because men have the nature of Satan in them, they do not feel that God desires to bless them. Satan lied to Eve in the garden, telling her that God lied to her about the effects of sin, and creating doubt in her heart that God wanted to bless her fully. Satan lied by telling her that she would be better off obeying him and not God. He told her she would be more blessed by being independent of God and choosing for herself what was best for herself just like he did. The blessing Satan promised led to his ways of sin, deception and wickedness coming into humanity. Satan was given authority, through sin, over mankind.

God still ruled above Satan’s rule of the earth. He had a plan to bring man back to receive His full and greatest blessing. God’s greatest blessing is the gift of His life. His life, His nature, His attitudes and His desires are pure, righteous, holy, loving, and perfect. He created man for this purpose, to bless Him by imparting His life into him. Men and God could then live in unity and harmony together, ruling over His creation. He gave man the ability to eat of the tree of life in the garden, and grow and receive His nature for this purpose. Now He is restoring all things through Jesus.

The passage of the day says God raised Jesus for this purpose. Jesus died for our sins. He took them into death for us. He told Adam that when he sinned, his soul would die, it would become separated from the life of God. Jesus took our sin on himself and took our sinful soul into hell. When Jesus died, Satan’s lie to Eve was full exposed. The results of sin is death, separation from God. BUT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD. Now Jesus rules over all the heavens and the earth. Now He can impart the life of God into those who come to Him. Now we can receive a life that hates sin and loves the ways of God. That is the life of God. That is the life Jesus lived on earth and now lives to impart into us. God blesses us with His life. Jesus has been raised from the dead and brought into heaven so we can receive the life of God

Father we rejoice in You and in Your life. Help us to receive Your eternal life in Christ, and renounce all ways of wickedness so Your life might shine forth from us.

"To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.(acts of wickedness)"( Acts 3:26NKJ)

God desires to bless us. He raised Jesus for that purpose. "God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you" ( Acts 3:26NKJ) Jesus reigns over all the earth and over the spiritual realm above the earth, the realm the Bible calls principalities and powers, thrones and dominions. (Eph 6:12-15) Satan today is called the prince of the power of the air, a ruler of this realm. (Eph 2:2) Jesus is preparing His people to reign with Him in this realm, as He purifies and cleanses and imparts His ways into His people for that purpose. His reign is increasing daily, as the work of God goes deeper into the spirit of His people, and they become more aware of and united with His heavenly plan and purposes.

God has not only exalted Jesus, but we too have been raised with Him. The Bible says, "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." (Col 3:1-3 NKJ) We have access to the heavenly life, to the heavenly throne of God. We can come boldly to the throne of grace, to receive help, wisdom, strength, blessing, comfort, and everything else we need to accomplish all that God has for us to do. Living this way is a life of faith, a life of meditation on the things above, a life of thinking on the things that are above, not focusing on the things of this life.

This heavenly style of life is the life of Jesus. This is how He lived while He walked on the earth. He was always focused on heaven. He lived to bring the ways of heaven, the words of heaven, the desires of heaven, into Himself, and then onto the earth through His words and actions. He spoke the words of God. He did what He saw His Father doing. He lived to bring glory to His Father by being obedient to Him. He blessed the world with the life of heaven. He was the outworking of the desire of God to bless us. Now we can be blessed so we can bless others with the heavenly life.

Father we rejoice in Your heavenly life, that we can receive in Jesus, and give to others. Help us to focus on the things of heaven as You give them to us in Christ.

A Thought for the Week— God Wants to Bless Us

"To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities."(wickedness)( Acts 3:26NKJ)

God desires to bless people. He blesses people and then sends them to bless others.

Jesus knew this way of God. He knew He was sent by God into the world. He testified to this truth. He said, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:17 NKJ)

Again He said, "I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life." (John 5:24 NKJ) And again, "I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me." (John 5:30 NKJ) And still again, "And the Father Himself, who sent Me has testified of Me. (John 5:37 NKJ)

One of the primary needs of man is to need to be needed, to have a sense of being worthwhile. God created us with these need and desires. Men try to fulfill by themselves in many ways, resulting in lustful desires, covetous activities, greed and jealousy. The deep iniquities (acts of wickedness) then flourish. Guilt, shame, sexual immorality, and acts of jealousy arise. BUT GOD in His mercy has acted on our behalf. He is able to bring the life of Jesus from heaven into us and to turn us from our wicked ways into ways of desiring to serve Him and to walk in holiness and righteousness. Jesus came, according to the Bible, "To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life. (Luke 1:74-75 NKJ)

Jesus came to bless, to be blessed and to teach to bless. He came to restore sight to the blind, to make the lame walk, to raise the dead. He came to prepare for his coming again when He would establish His kingdom rule over the earth in glory.

Jesus wanted others to know the blessing of blessing others. His word to His disciples was, "Freely you have received, freely give." (Matt 10:8 NKJ) He also told them they would be reigning with Him. Matt 19:28 Luke 19:17-19) One of His closing statements was, "As the As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." (John 20:21NKJ) Receive the blessing of being sent by God to bless others in Christ.

Father we rejoice in You. We rejoice that through Jesus we can serve you and be blessed. We rejoice that we can serve others and we all can be blessed.
