A Thought from CMI--Shaking the World to Release His Spirit

June 11, 2008

"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.Ē  (Joel 2:28 NKJ)

God loves us and He loves the world. He has a vision for all things to be working properly.  Jesus came to heal people so that their bodies could be restored to working properly.  Jesus came to live a life dependent upon revelation and power from the Spirit of God, to show us how to live properly.  He gave up His life, after suffering for our sins and taking them into hell, so that He could bring His life into us and be the Mediator of the New Covenant.  God had promised to put His ways, His nature and character into His people so they would want to serve Him and live for Him.  He needed someone to work out this kind of life so that He could use it to multiply that life into us.  Jesus did this.  He came to show us how to live, and to then be the One through whom His life could be brought into us so we too could want to live for God as He did.

We were born with a life that wanted to live for our self--doing what we want, living for the pleasures of our body, and living to receive honor from men.  The life we are born with does not want to have the Spirit of God live in us to lead us into living solely for God, doing only what He wants.  We feel adequate in ourselves, only wanting God to bless us with the riches of this world.  I too was born that way, but God allowed me to see I needed to be filled with and live by the presence and power of His Spirit in me.  The Bible says not to be drunk with wine but to be filled with His Spirit.  I knew how to be drunk, but did not know how to or want to be totally filled with His Spirit.  God in His mercy showed me my need of all of Him--His entire life and desires--to become part of every part of me.  He forgave my sins, enabled me to seek and give forgiveness in all relationships, and to know the joy of living totally for Him.

The passage above says God will send His Spirit onto all flesh.  Our world is quickly being shown its desperate need of being filled with the ways and Spirit of God.  Our old ways are being shown as inadequate for dealing with the increased darkness of men and the increased complexity in dealing with the nations.  God is allowing us to see these things so we cry out to Him.  He is enabling His people to know more of the love and power of His Spirit by increasing the manifestation of His Spirit in their lives and workplace and ministries.  He is enabling His people to be greater lights by showing His love and His healing power in all areas of society.  He is restoring families, and destinies of nations, bringing all things under Christ through His Spirit.  Let us rejoice in all He is, in all He has promised to do, and in all He is doing.

Father, we rejoice in You.  Help us to receive Your life and Your Spirit through Jesus.  Help us to participate in the new and deeper things Your Spirit is bringing into us and through us into all the nations.  We humbly bow before You, confessing only You can do the things You have desired and promised.  Have Your way with us, in us, and through us so that You will be exalted.  Amen.

"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgmentĒ (John 16:8NKJ).

God loves us.  We need His life and His Spirit in us.  He has shown us our need and shows us how He can and will fulfill that need for us.  Jesus came to give us life.  He did not come to improve our life.  He did not come to give us a ďmid-course correction.Ē  He came to give us a new life!

Adam was created without sin.  He was given access to the tree of life.  He could receive the life of God and become filled with a life that loved to do Godís will and to see the ways of God overcome the ways of the world.  God had told him to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill the earth and to subdue it.  We have all come forth from the loins of Adam, through Eve.

Adam sinned, giving in to the desires of the devil and welcoming the ways of the devil into his being; the devilís ways became part of him.  All those born from Adam have the ways of the devil in them.  We all are now born with a sinful nature, which we received from Adam.

Jesus came from His Father.  He was born of a sinful woman, but He had a holy nature because He was the Son of God.  The Son of God became a son of man.  Jesus did not give in to the desires of the devil--He overcame them.  He took all the sinful ways of Adam upon Himself and overcame them at the cross.  He took them into hell.  He was punished by His Father for our sinful actions.

God raised Jesus from hell and from death and has now made Him the rightful ruler over all the spiritual powers and over all the earth.  As our High Priest, Jesus now sends His life into us and sends the Holy Spirit of God into the world as Godís ruler over the world.  We can have a new life--the life of Christ.  God is able to take us out of our old life and bring us into the life of Christ that He puts into us.

As our King and High Priest, Jesus now sends the Holy Spirit to us to empower us.  The Holy Spirit in us comes forth through us as we speak the words of Christ.  The Holy Spirit through us convicts the world of sin.  We can change the spiritual atmosphere around us by releasing the Holy Spirit from within us.  The Holy Spirit shows us and others our need of the righteous ways of Christ.  The Holy Spirit shows us and those around us the judgments of God.  Good will increase and be rewarded.   Evil will be punished and removed.   God is a just God.  Let us receive the life of Jesus into all of our spirit, soul, and body so we can become like Him.  Let us live in the power of the Holy Spirit so the works and desires of God can be manifest in us and through us.

Father, we rejoice in You and in Your eternal plan to redeem us so You can use us as Your Holy people to show forth the power of Your Holy Spirit through Christ living in us. Let all the nations come into the desire of being under the Lordship and Priestly Ministry of Jesus.  Amen.

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.Ē (John 16:13 NKJ)

Jesus loves us.  He loved His disciples.  He spoke these words to His disciples when He was about to leave them, as His life as a human on earth was about to be completed.  He came to show us how to live.  He came to give up the life He lived so that it could be brought into death and then multiplied into all those who would come after Him seeking to be born of His life from above.  He was about to go to the cross, knowing that He must first be the Lamb of God who would be punished by God and suffer for us so that we could be made whole.  Before the new life of Christ can be fully received, provision must be made for the old life to be punished, to fulfill the righteous judgments of God against our sin.  Jesus suffered for us; God put upon Him the sins and iniquities of us all.

He knew He was to be the administrator of the New Covenant blessings of God.  Under this New Covenant God would take our sins from us and punish another.  God would impart into us a new life so that we could love Him and seek to serve and live for Him.  Jesus worked out this new life into humanity.  This new life was the very life of God, from God.  We now can be partakers of Godís divine nature--the life of God from Christ.  This life wants evil punished and removed from the world.  This life wants Godís life to rule and be present in all the people.  This life results in the formation of a new heaven and new earth, where righteousness reigns.

Godís Holy Spirit must reveal these things to us.  Because of being filled with the nature of the devil, through sin, our old nature is unable to know and receive Godís holy life in Christ.  Jesus, who now reigns as our Heavenly High Priest, administers the new lifeóa new nature--to us.  As our Heavenly King, He has the right and power to send the Holy Spirit to us so that we can know the things God makes available to us in Christ.

This is what Jesus was telling His disciples before going to the cross.  He told them that He would send them the Holy Spirit of God, Who would guide them into all truth.  He told them the Holy Spirit would take the things of Christ--His wisdom and His holiness--and impart and empower them into us so we could be witnesses to others of Godís grace and mercy.

We can and will be without spot and wrinkle.  We can and will do supernatural signs and wonders, showing Godís grace and power to others.  We can and will disciple the nations so that all nations will know and worship God.  God will remove all evil and those who resist His Holy Spirit, so the world will be filled with His glory.  His kingdom shall come.  We are seeing an even greater manifestation of these things IN THIS DAY.  Hallelujah!

Father, we rejoice in Your eternal plan to redeem us, to fill us with Your life, and to empower us with Your Holy Spirit.  Help us to receive and live in all You have for us in Christ. Amen.

ďFor unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.Ē (Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJ)

Two thousand years ago a Child was born of a virgin.  This Child was also a Son who was given.  The Child of Bethlehem was the Son of God given to us.  God brought His life into humanity and became man so that man could have the life of God in him.  We can be united with God, having His life in us, and having our life in Him through Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of God who energized the life of Jesus when He became a man, now can bring us into Christ and bring the ways of Christ into us.  As God does this for us, we begin to know Jesus as our Wonderful One.  We know His great wisdom and love for us and want to yield to Him as our Counselor.  We know in our spirit that He is who He said He was--the Mighty Son of God.  The continual presence and reality of Christ living in us unites us with the heavenly life of God.  We experience the reality that we have been raised from the deadness of sin and have been brought with Christ into the spiritual reality of our place in Godís heavenly kingdom.  We know Jesus as the Father of the holy and everlasting things of God.

But there is more the Father desires.  Jesus is Lord.  He reigns.  As we receive more of His righteousness and the abundance of grace He has for us, we too reign in life.  We are able to reign over the sinful passions that are in our flesh, and we are able to release Godís presence into our everyday life and circumstances (Romans 5:17).  We are able to effect the spiritual realm around us with the Word and ways of God given to us to speak and manifest, releasing the presence of His Spirit flowing into and forth from us. Godís people can reign in all parts of our society.

God wants to manifest the reality of the reign of Christ through us.  Our reign is manifested by bringing the ways of the heavenly kingdom into all of our being--body, soul, spirit and life.  Jesus said Godís kingdom is within us.  The kingdom of God is increasing in us and then through us, the above passage says.  The zeal of God will accomplish this, as the prophet has prophesied. The world will know the reality of Jesus when His love, glory, holiness and power are increasingly manifested in His people (John 17:21).  These things are happening now!

Father, we rejoice in Your great love for the world.  We rejoice in Your commitment to bring all things under Christ by the manifestation of His presence in us.  Help us to be faithful to You.  Amen.

ďÖfor the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.Ē (Romans 14:17 NKJ)

God loves the world and wants the world to know Him, for to know God is to love Him.  Those who know God want to serve Him, because we know His ways are best.  Those who know God want His will to be done, for we know that His desires are best for us and for all of the world.  Those who know God want His kingdom to reign in all parts of our society, for we know that there can be peace only when people live under Godís influence and direction.

Jesus died so that we can have His life in us.  He died so we would not have to be punished for our sins and they could be removed from us.  We now can live for God, in His kingdom, as He brings about the removal of sinful ways from men and brings into the world the desire to do right and enjoy the peace and joy of God.  The sinful ways of men result in their killing each other, molesting children, abusing women, lying and stealing from others and bringing fear and shame upon homes and families.  God will destroy these sinful ways.  Godís righteous ways are more powerful than mankindís sinful ways.  God has put the sinful ways of men on Christ.  He can take them out of the hearts of people and out of the world.  Those who do not want to live apart from their sinful ways will be cast out of the world when God removes all sin from His creation.

God is shaking the world, showing us that we cannot live and enjoy life apart from Him.  He is showing us our need to have sin removed from our society.  He is showing us that we need to have His love of doing what is right implanted in us so that we do not get caught up in the sinful ways of the world.  We are to be examples to the world, showing the people who live in darkness the wondrous life of living in the presence of God and having His life in us.

Godís kingdom is filled with righteousness, peace and joy.  We can receive Divine revelation and power from God so that we can show others His wisdom and power.  We can show others victorious living, and the ability to use Godís supernatural wisdom and knowledge to solve the problems of life.  The life of God in us can enable us to provide answers to the increasingly complex problems in government, education, families, and all areas of society.  God has the answers in Himself and is willing to impart them into His people so that all can know the blessings of His kingdom and will.  All of Godís people can manifest the righteousness, peace, and joy of His kingdom as we receive His life through His Spirit.  Let us rejoice!

Father, we rejoice in Your plan to bring Your kingdom and Your righteous ways into all areas of our life and society.  Help us to receive revelation from You and to show others Your great love and wisdom, so they too can be blessed by Your life in them.  Amen.

ďFor if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.Ē (Romans 5:17 NKJ)

God loves the world.  He sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that through Him the world might be saved from having to experience Godís wrath against the ways of evil and would be able to experience the blessings of God (John 3:17).

We are living in times of great stress.  Gas prices are continually increasing, new ways of evildoing continue to arise, and the demands of the workplace are increasing.  We see times of turmoil increasing.  Yet God still loves the world.  He is extending His hand of grace toward His people in ever greater ways.  The presence of His Holy Spirit in our lives and communities is increasingly obvious.  The times of abundance of grace are here.

Some are fearful that the world is coming into a time of great tribulation.  Jesus talked of a time of great tribulation.  He said that it would come upon the generation of people who were living at that time.  He did not say that the great time of tribulation was something that would come just before His return.  When He went to the cross, women were weeping because of what was happening to Him.  He told them not to weep for Him but rather to weep for what was about to happen to them and their children.  He said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.  For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!'Ē (Luke 23:28-29 NKJ)  Many of these women saw the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD.  They saw women cooking their babies for food, because of the great tribulation that had come upon Jerusalem.

The Bible says that God will allow darkness to come forth and difficult times to come upon the earth.  The Bible also says that during these times the presence and power of Christ within His people will rise up to show the light and glory of God. The Bible says that evil is already at work; only He who now restrains evil will do so until He comes forth from the midst of them. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming forth (II Thessalonians 2:7-8).

God is allowing difficult times to come so that His people will cry out to Him for more of His life and power.  He wants to show Himself mighty as He rises up from within His people. We then can help others with the life and power of God we are receiving for ourselves and others.  He promises to destroy the ways of ungodly people and to show forth His righteous ways.  He is using these times to establish His kingdom of righteousness and to lead many out from the ways of unrighteousness so that they are not living in them and are destroyed with them when those ways are destroyed.  God loves the world.  Let us receive great grace so we can shine with His light, love, and power in us in these days!

Father, we rejoice in You and in Your love for the world.  Help us to receive Your abundance of grace so we can reign with You through Jesus and help others in these days.  Amen.
