Listen to Him Who is Speaking from Heaven

“See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,  whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." (Hebrews 12:25-26 NKJ)

God is speaking.  He loves to speak to all people.  He loves the world--His creation—and all people in the world.  One way He reveals Himself is through the majesty of His creation.  He loves to speak to people who know and love Him, who seek to know what He is speaking and want to hear and obey Him.  He also loves to speak to those who do not know Him--to those who are not listening to Him, who are caught up in themselves or in following the ways of Satan.

God speaks from His heart.  He does not speak out of what might make Him or others feel good, or out of what will make Him loved or accepted by people.   God speaks from His Spirit.  God wants us to know Him.  He speaks so that He can communicate to us His will, His desires, His plans and His purposes.  He has in Himself the eternal plans for His creation; He created all things for His eternal purposes.  They are fully known and contained in Him.  He reveals them to us over time.  He reveals more and more of Himself and of His Divine plan and eternal purposes to people over time.

When God speaks from His heart, the Spirit of God gives energy, revelation and understanding to the words He speaks.  There are other spirits in this world, evil spirits that keep people from receiving and understanding the words God would communicate to us.  Only through the work of the Holy Spirit can men know and understand the words God would communicate to us.  Because of sin, evil spirits have access to people; they have darkened their spirits so that they cannot receive the words God speaks.

We are coming into times of great revelation of truth.  God’s Spirit in His people is causing them to seek to come closer into God, to receive life and revelation from Him each day.  The light of the Spirit of God in His people is also revealing the darkness in the hearts of those who do not know Him.  Evil is increasing.  People in darkness are increasingly angered by the presence of God in His people.  But the love of God in us, for those who are in darkness, will enable us to show His love to them in dramatic and supernatural ways, as Jesus did when He walked on the earth.   Pray for the life of God in us to draw us ever closer into His heavenly and eternal life, and for His life to flow through us to that we can bring the influence of God’s presence into all places He sends us.  God is willing and desirous to do this in and through us.

Father, we rejoice that You love to reveal Yourself to us through Your Word.  Help us to receive and meditate on Your Word each day so that Your life can fill every part of our being and every sphere of life where You send us.  Amen.

He loves to speak.  He loves Himself, and He loves to communicate and share Himself, His desires, His plans and purposes with His creation.  He created all things and wants the best for His creation; that is why He is speaking. God has spoken, He is speaking, and He always will be speaking.  That is part of His nature--to share and communicate Himself into and with His creation.

Many are not listening to what God is saying.  Many are venting anger because they do not want to hear and abide by what God is saying and doing.  Many are trying to keep from having to listen to, reflect on and obey the words God has already spoken. Some, however, are listening to, hearing, reflecting on, abiding in and obeying what God has and is speaking

God knows that some will deliberately disobey Him and will try to keep others from seeking to hear from Him.  He knows that some will want to pass laws that are in direct conflict with the words and revelation God has given.  He already spoke of the days we live in.  He still loves His world, His people, and even those who are living apart from Him.  He said that the rulers of this world would set themselves against His ways and His laws to establish their own ways.  But He also said that He would nonetheless establish His kingdom in the hearts of His people and let it be known that His king reigns over all the affairs of men--even of those who are living in rebellion against Him.

God is speaking words of encouragement, power, hope, destiny, and victory to His people.  His Spirit is leading His people into deeper relationships with Him, through His written Word and through the words He continually speaks from heaven.  His Spirit is increasingly letting us experience the reality of Christ living in His people, giving supernatural revelation, understanding and power to those who are diligently seeking Him.  He has spoken promises to His people that He is now fulfilling in ways that are beyond our levels of understanding or expectation.  He is giving greater and greater levels of faith, and greater manifestations of His life in His people, as they come to know the reality of finding their life in Him.  His people are increasingly being made aware of their ability and need to draw life and new revelation from Him each day.  His kingdom and power are increasing in His people, as they come before Him, receive from Him daily words, and let them go deep into their lives and daily activities.  Let us pray and confess that of the increase of His government and kingdom there shall be no end.

Father, we rejoice in Your holy, loving, wise and longsuffering nature and character.  Thank You that You reveal these attributes of Yours in Yourself, Your Word and Your Son.  We rejoice that as we worship Your revelations of Yourself, You impart them into us through Jesus, and many are then blessed by Your life in Christ in us. Amen.

He has been speaking.  He spoke by giving prophetic revelations to people in times past, speaking directly to them.  He reveals His plans to people and speaks words of warning to people who live in disobedience.  He spoke to Adam in the garden, telling him to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and to subdue it.   He spoke to Noah to build an ark, because He would bring judgment on the earth.  God had to destroy the people of that day so that He could have a people who would be faithful to His eternal plan and purposes.

He told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations.  He spoke words of destiny to both Ishmael and Isaac.  He said that through the seed of Abraham all nations would be blessed.  The descendants of both Ishmael and Isaac have a destiny in the seed of Abraham; that seed is Christ.  In Christ--and only in Christ--all nations shall be blessed.  Many Arabs, the descendants of Ishmael, thought they could be blessed outside of Christ, the seed of Abraham.  The Jews thought it was in their having Abraham as their father that they would be blessed.  Many of them rejected the seed of Abraham—Christ--when He came.  Because of their rejection of Christ, and their continued killing of God’s messengers, God had to bring devastation and destruction to Jerusalem in order to preserve His plan to bring all things into Christ.  Jesus spoke words of the coming great tribulation that the Jews of that generation would have to endure because they would continue to kill God’s messengers as they had the prophets, Christ Himself, and those who would bring God’s eternal plan to bring all things into Christ.

God continues to speak to us through Christ.  Now Christ reigns in heaven, and God brings us into Christ, through His Spirit revealing the truth that we have been raised with Christ and in spirit are seated with Him in heavenly places.  Now Christ lives in us and is making us to be a cleansed temple of God so that we can see Him, know what He is doing, and manifest His will and love into a lost, desperate, and needy world.

Christ is speaking from heaven, and He is speaking His life and words into our hearts and lives so that by His Holy Spirit we can be filled with His ways and power as He continually reveals more of Himself to us and through us.  His kingdom reign is coming forth from us so that we can manifest God’s will and presence every day into the spheres of influence where He sends us.  We are His ambassadors--in our homes, families, communities and nations.  His Word is being manifest into us and then through us.  The nations will know that Jesus is Lord by His work in and through us.

Father, we rejoice in Your longsuffering, Your wisdom, Your love and power.  We rejoice that as we behold Jesus in glory we see You expressing Yourself through Him.  We thank You, Holy Spirit, that You continually awaken us to the riches that are ours for the nations in Christ.  Amen.

God is speaking, revealing Himself to the earth.  He has chosen to reveal Himself to us through His Son, who is called the “Word of God.”  While Jesus walked on the earth, God lived in Him.  He revealed God’s ways to us.  He declared that the words He was speaking were not of Himself but were the words His Father gave Him to speak.  His words, which were from the Spirit of God who lived within Him, brought life and healing.  The presence of God’s Spirit in Him enabled Him to live in continual communion with His Father.  He testified that He was in God and that God was in Him.  He showed to the world what a man could be.  He had a desire to communicate God’s ways, plans and purposes to the world.  He said that if anyone had seen Him they had seen the Father, because He manifested the will, nature, character, and words of His Father.  God spoke His words, plans and purposes into His Son so that He could bring them forth for us.  The Son of God became a son of man so that we as sons of men can become sons of God.

God continues to speak.  He continues to speak through Jesus.  He still wants to reveal Himself to the world through the words He gives His Son to speak.  Jesus is now speaking from heaven, to all who will listen.  We who have the power to be sons of God can now hear what Jesus is speaking from heaven.  As we take into our hearts the personal words He speaks to us each day, we can let His word into all of our being.  We can know and meditate on His word by worshiping His character as He reveals Himself to us.  We can listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit as He ministers God’s Word into our entire being.  We can see Jesus in glory, imparting more of His character into all of our being as the Holy Spirit ministers the life of Christ to us.  We are being continually changed from glory to glory as the risen and glorified Christ lives in us and reveals more of God to us.  As we speak of the words we are receiving, and manifest God’s life and love to others, the very atmosphere around us is filled with the presence of God coming forth from us; others can then know that we have been with God.

God is speaking through His Son, who is speaking through His people.  God’s people are becoming more like His Son, so that they can hear what God is speaking through Him.  God’s words are coming into us through Christ and being manifested into all of our being through the Holy Spirit.  We can then be a word of God for the world, bringing forth the words God has given us to be and to declare.  God speaks through His Word.  Jesus is The Word of God; all God has is in Him.  We are a word of God, having a particular word or manifestation of God to bring to the world.  Individually we are a word; collectively we are the word—the Body of Christ.  Let us become the word God has given us and gives us each day, by meditating on Him and on who He is, through what He has given to us.

Father, we rejoice in You.  We confess that You are all in all, that all of You is in Christ, and that He has come to bring You into us through His Presence in us.  Help us to receive what You have for us to bring forth each day as we receive Your life and release it daily.  Amen.

Things are being shaken.  He spoke at Mount Sinai when He gave the Law--the Ten Commandments.  He came upon the mountain, which shook by His presence and by His word.  The Commandments He gave were to be followed by the nation of Israel and then by all the world.  Now He is speaking again--this time from heaven.  This time the heavens and the earth are being shaken by what God is saying.

It is evident that we are living in times when things are being shaken.  The world’s financial markets are being shaken.  Behavior resulting from people’s greed is being revealed.  The corruption in men’s hearts is being revealed in government leaders.  Fear of flu epidemics is gripping people beyond what the medical profession deems necessary.  One nation is slaughtering all the pigs in the land as a precautionary measure.  Most of you are probably more aware than I am of the increased levels of stress, tension and fear that exist in people’s hearts and in the world.

When God speaks, men’s hearts are revealed, exposing deep-seated fears, lusts, anger, and rage.  Some will harden themselves even further, seeking to find solace in drugs, increased demands of others, denial, and resentment of God and His ways.   Others will look to many futile sources for answers--the government, religious activities, personal resolves, education and the like.

When God shakes the heavens (where the ruling spiritual powers and strongholds dwell), and the earth, He has a purpose.  He is shaking spirits and people.  Our response must be to listen to Him who is speaking.  It is one thing to know God is speaking; it is another thing to know what He is speaking about.  Many have some revelation in these areas.  HOWEVER the Bible says, “LISTEN TO HIM WHO IS SPEAKING.”  This is not a time to simply trust in what we know about God, but rather to seek God and to know Him intimately, to know His character and nature, His ways and His purposes.  This does not come by gaining more intellectual knowledge about God, but by knowing God Himself.  We need to communicate and fellowship with the One who is speaking.  When God speaks He expects us to listen and to speak--to communicate, to dialog, to share our heart with Him.  He will share His desires and purposes for what He is doing.  He will share His strategies concerning His plans for us to bring His wisdom and words into the places He has positioned us.  He will give us supernatural revelation as He uses us to go into the places of devastation with His presence and His strategies for those who are looking for answers.  When things are shaken, that which has held things together is loosened.  Many things fall.  The ways our world and its governments operate are being shaken.  God’s people have new opportunities to bring God’s love, purposes and principles into the places He has strategically placed us.  He is shaking things so that the ways of ungodliness might be removed and new ways brought into His world through His people who speak His word, know His plan and manifest His presence.  Rejoice in the shaking, but commune with Him who is shaking things; He will daily give strategies, wisdom, revelation, comfort and hope to His people so we can bring His ways into the hearts and structures of our nations.  Glory be to Him!

Father, we rejoice that You are shaking all things.  We rejoice that You give us the grace to come boldly to Your throne and dialog with You about what is happening around us.  We rejoice that you are in the process of removing all that is not of Your kingdom and ways, so that Your people can bring forth Your plans and purposes as You bring all things under Christ.  Amen.
