sent on 9/10/03A Church Is Being Built in Kenya
This
is
a picture from a village near Kakemega, Kenya. The picture is of a group of people who are building a church
in this place. The bare land behind
the group is the plot on which the church will be built. Just behind the group, you will see the mud bricks that are
being made which will become the walls of the building. These bricks are being made by hand, then sun dried and then
fire dried. They have an additional
quantity of bricks in the home of the property owners.
The woman in the green dress is Rose.
She is a real intercessor. Dan
and I visited this place in January of 2002.
At that time, Rose was holding meetings in her home with a few believers
from the area. God gave us a word
for Rose that there would be a church on this sight. The day after we were there Rose's husband made a commitment
to give his life to Jesus. Now he
has given this parcel of land for the building of a church. The
man on the far right is a retired Pentecostal Pastor from the area.
He came to the meeting we held here.
God gave us words of knowledge and this man received healing of chronic
pains he had. He is a
"spiritual father" of this area and now he has been blessed by the new
church, and will be a blessing to the group that is planting this church. The
young man on the left of Rose in the suit is the Pastor of the church.
The other three young men in the picture are on fire for the Lord.
God gave us prophetic words for them the last time we were there. All
four of these young men are earnestly requesting materials from our ministry.
Here in the outlying area there is no Internet, so they do not have
access to our website. We are
corresponding to these young men through regular mail, which takes about a
month. We
have many others who have requested materials.
Hopefully we can maintain contact and provide them with the things they
need. There are over 20 such
churches and individual stories like this in the Kakemega area of Kenya.
Joash Ligami, the bishop over these churches is developing discipleship
training seminars and is also beginning to have access to a building he is using
as a training center for Cyrus Ministries International of Kenya.
We support Joash directly and will be bringing him and other leaders in
Africa here next year for additional training and for them to share the vision
of Cyrus Ministries International of Kenya with groups in the USA. God
is raising up new leaders for His ever-expanding church in Africa.
